The Vides family are now into their third generation of coffee producers. Established in 1958 by Jorge Vides, who was a doctor at and the director of the National Hospital in Huehuetenango. His grandson Renardo Ovalle leads production from their multiple farms. They also purchase coffee from local farm holders throughout the region. The Vides 58 coffees are their estate and premium range.
Long before it was fashionable the family established sustainable agricultural processes and in 1980 built an elementary school for their surrounding community.
